Show at Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge in London as an Event Venue

What a luxury – as the iPad magician, I not only get to travel to the most beautiful places in the world, such as Bali, Bora Bora and Sydney last year, but also to perform at the most extraordinary venues.
Shows at the six-star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, on the roof of New York’s 30 Rock skyscraper and on the world’s most luxurious cruise ship, MS Europa 2, will certainly stay with me forever.

Of course, I usually owe these wonderful experiences to the creative groundwork of agencies and event organisers.
Here is my personal top 3 of this year’s event venues – perhaps they will inspire you, too.

No. 1: Tower Bridge, London

London’s landmark is simply iconic. What a perfect event venue!
Looking up from the pedestrian crossing, you can already see the partly glass floors of the two walkways high above the Thames.
The cocktail reception took place in the left-hand walkway, followed by dinner in the right-hand one.

I owe the invitation to Diebold Nixdorf, the world market leader in ATMs.
Next year I’ll be performing for them again in New York and Las Vegas – let’s see whether those venues make it into my top 3 as well.

No. 2: Red Bull Hangar-7 (Salzburg, Austria)

This aircraft hangar is an architectural masterpiece and a unique event venue. A glass dome arches over the historic aircraft and exhibits on display, offering a view of the sky by day and reflecting the lights of the event at night.

The dinner tables were decorated just as stylishly, and above my stage hung a large sail that served as a screen – which, after my performance, rolled itself up at the snap of my fingers.

No. 3: Böhler Areal (Düsseldorf, Germany)

A venue with more than 100 years of history which, for international guests, stands out not least for being right next to Düsseldorf Airport. It gets particularly exciting when modern event design meets the industrial charm of old brickwork and massive steel columns. Even though I have performed here several times, I was thrilled by the atmosphere at this year’s Vodafone annual conference, where I had the pleasure of enchanting more than 2,000 people. As the show took place in the morning, the daylight brought out the red tones and the stage design perfectly.
