Ellen DeGeneres, here I come! The world-famous host has invited me onto her talk show, and as you read these lines, I’m preparing some brand-new iPad tricks for Ellen.
The producers of The Ellen DeGeneres Show invited me, and I’m now following their call to Hollywood to perform a few tricks for Ellen face to face.
On Wednesday 18 February, I’ll be a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which airs in the afternoon in almost every US state. Rehearsals take place the day before, on 17 February.
I’m incredibly excited about the performance – in the very best sense, of course.
So here I am, sitting by the pool of the historic Roosevelt Hotel in the heart of Hollywood with my Emmy Award-winning US manager Charlie White. As an editor at Mashable, he was the first journalist to publish my iPad magic video back then – and contributed greatly to it spreading around the world.
And it gets even better. Today Ellen announced that Neil Patrick Harris, star of How I Met Your Mother, will be a guest on the same episode. That means I get to perform on a show with the last two Oscar hosts: Ellen hosted last year, and Neil Patrick Harris will present this year’s Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday 22 February on ABC.
That’s also special because Harris is an accomplished magician himself and a former president of the Magic Castle, the private club of the Academy of Magical Arts here in Hollywood. I can hardly wait to meet him.
